Vehicle Mechanic

Position Description

Objectives

• To provide timely, efficient, and reliable service in vehicle and equipment repairs and maintenance

Reporting Relationships

• Reports to Fleet Management Supervisor
• Supervision of none

Responsibilities and Authorities

• Performs Personally the Following Activities Unique to This Position:
• Conducts all major and minor repairs on all vehicles and equipment, including hydraulics, welding, fabrication, brakes, etc.
• Installs and removes two-way radio equipment and assists in maintaining the same.
• Performs preventive maintenance on all vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains garage and related work area in a neat, clean, safe, and orderly condition free of recognized hazards.
• Assists in pumping gasoline and fuel records system, routine washing, or servicing vehicles as required.
• Assists stranded vehicles requiring on-the-spot maintenance or towing.
• Assists in scheduled washing and cleaning of vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Such other duties as may be required.
