Vehicle Recovery Driver

Stoneywood are a breakdown and recovery specialist operating a 24 hour, 7 days a week service. We are currently looking for both Class 1 and Class 2 drivers to join our team.

We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for recovering vehicles efficiently and safely, This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles.

Duties

• Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
• The applicant must have good geographical knowledge of the surrounding area, be able to work well under pressure and work as part of a team.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules or any delays
• Assist with warehouse duties when required
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times during driving and loading activities

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving
• MUST hold a current CLASS 1 or CLASS 2 licence, tachograph card and drivers CPC
• Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor maintenance checks
• MUST be able to pass a police CRB check
• Experience in vehicle recovery desirable and heavy recovery experience would be a bonus but this is not essential as training can be given to the right candidate.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
• Previous experience operating flatbed vehicles is desirable but not essential

Working hours are 4 on 4 off rota with call from home on a night on your 4 days on.
