SCM Engineer from Machining Industry
Core roles and responsibilities
- Vendor identification and selection: Conduct market research, evaluate potential suppliers based on criteria like price, quality, and delivery, and perform initial qualification and on-site assessments.
- Relationship management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors, act as a key point of contact, and resolve conflicts or issues as they arise.
- Contract and negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Performance monitoring: Track and measure vendor performance using KPIs and scorecards, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Risk and compliance management: Assess potential risks, ensure vendor compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Internal collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders to understand product and service needs and ensure vendor services align with business goals.
- Cost control: Implement strategies to manage and reduce procurement costs.
- Onboarding and enablement: Develop processes for onboarding new vendors and provide training or support to align them with company standards.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, performance, and prepare reports on procurement activities
