Venture Capital Managing Partner

We are seeking an accomplished Managing Partner to lead our Venture Capital firm. The Managing Partner sits at the helm of the venture capital firm and leads the strategic vision and overall operations of the company. This senior leadership role plays a pivotal role in shaping the investment portfolio and fundraising for the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Creating and implementing strategic vision for the firm
  • Direct the long-term strategy of the firm and oversee multiple funds with different investment strategies
  • Oversee the overall operations of the investment initiative
  • Shape the strategic direction of the investment initiative

Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Leading fundraising efforts for the firm
  • Interact with Limited Partners (LPs) who provide the capital for investments
  • Participating in fundraising activities
  • Build relationships with limited partners, institutional investors, and co-investors
  • Serve as "key person" in legal agreements such as the Limited Partner Agreement (LPA)
  • Make the initial capital contribution to the fund (typically 1% of fund size)

Investment Oversight & Decision-Making

  • Overseeing investment portfolio
  • Make final investment decisions alongside Partners
  • Making key investment decisions with check-writing power
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities
  • Share the same investment responsibilities as Partners

Team Management & Operations

  • Managing and developing the team at all levels
  • Make hiring decisions at every level of the organization
  • Provide leadership, professional development, and mentoring for junior staff
  • Lead internal trainings and best practice sharing

Portfolio Company Support

  • Assisting portfolio companies with strategic guidance and mentorship
  • Provide strategic, executive, fundraising, operational, and portfolio support to portfolio companies
  • Lead funding rounds and support growth of portfolio companies
  • Build networks of founders, co-investors, advisors, and ecosystem partners

Deal Sourcing & Business Development

  • Building relationships with entrepreneurs and investors
  • Sourcing and evaluating new deals in startups and high-growth companies
  • Cultivate relationships with founders and ecosystem partners
  • Leverage industry networks to drive value

Risk Management & Governance

  • Manage and mitigate risks (operational, financial, regulatory)
  • Have both legal liability and fiduciary responsibility for the firm's actions
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Qualifications & RequirementsExperience

  • 8–15+ years of experience in venture capital, startup operations, M&A, or similar roles
  • Proven track record in venture capital or related investing space
  • Deep understanding of technology and innovation sectors (AI, Web3, fintech, embedded payments)
  • Strong track record in sourcing, evaluating, and closing investments

Network & Relationships

  • Strong network within the venture and startup ecosystem
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with founders, co-investors, advisors, and ecosystem partners
  • Established relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders

Compensation

Venture Capital Managing Partners are compensated with:

  • Salary from the management company
  • Management fee distributions (2% of Assets Under Management)
  • Carried interest from the funds (typically 20% of profits)
  • Profits from the management company
  • Initial capital contribution of ~1% of fund size

Key Performance Indicators

  • Fund returns and IRR (Internal Rate of Return)
  • Number and success rate of investments
  • Exit success rate (IPOs, acquisitions)
  • Portfolio company growth and valuation increases
  • Fundraising success and LP satisfaction
  • Deal pipeline and in-flight investment opportunities

Pay: QAR120.00 - QAR400.00 per hour
