Job Summary
The Senior Communications Specialist develops and executes strategic communications that strengthen employee engagement, recruitment, organizational culture, and brand reputation through clear, consistent, and engaging messaging across digital and print platforms. This role creates and manages content including newsletters, emails, executive messaging, website and intranet content, marketing materials, video scripts, and organizational announcements, while supporting change management initiatives through timely communications that drive awareness and adoption. Working cross-functionally, the specialist also manages and optimizes communication platform - including SharePoint, ADP, OptiSigns, content management systems, intranets, employee applications, and virtual meeting tool - to ensure an effective user experience and alignment with organizational priorities.
Essential Job Functions:
. Develop and execute content strategies that support organizational growth, recruitment, and brand reputation
. Create content that strengthens employee engagement and reinforces organizational values and priorities
. Support change management initiatives by delivering communications that drive successful adoption
. Optimize digital communication platforms to ensure effective content delivery
. Review and refresh existing content across all platforms to maintain relevance, accuracy, and alignment
. Support and coordinate company events, meetings, and functions.
. Partner with internal teams and external vendors to enhance platform functionality and user experience
. Coordinate language translation for materials
. Maintain asset files, ensuring proper organization and retention
. Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience
. 6+ years of experience in communications, journalism, or public relations
. Strong analytical, editorial skills, creative skills, technical skills, and project management skills
. Proficiency in content creation and technology tools, including Office365, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, AI
. High level understanding of communications platforms, including SharePoint, Zoom, OptiSigns, etc.
. Bilingual in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
. Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
. Experience supporting platform implementations or upgrades
. Comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders
. Data-informed mindset with the ability to interpret engagement metrics
. Experience planning and executing internal events
Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based but requires approximately 20% travel on an intermittent, as-needed basis. The position demands the ability to work in various climate conditions, including extreme cold, and lift up to 50 lbs. The work environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability to changing communication needs and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Some evening or weekend work may be necessary for crisis communication or time-sensitive projects.
