Vessel Operations Controller

Ceto Talent is proud to partner with a globally recognised dry bulk shipping company that owns and operates a modern fleet of 60–70 vessels worldwide.

We’re supporting them in their search for an Operations Controller to join their team in Dubai , one of their key office locations.

Please note: This role would suit someone who is earlier on in their shipping career or looking for a position with a lighter operational scope than traditional vessel operations.

About the role

This is a permanent position focused on vessel operations for the company-owned fleet. You’ll oversee the smooth running of voyages, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and clear coordination between vessels and shore teams. From time to time, you’ll also support post-fixture and marine accounting tasks as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor daily operations of company-owned vessels
• Coordinate with masters, agents, and internal departments to keep voyages on track
• Track and analyse voyage results, costs, and operational performance
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards
• Assist with post-fixture activities and marine accounting when required

About you

• Some experience in vessel operations OR post fixture for ship owner.
• Good knowledge of voyage management and operational workflows
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment
• Strong communicator with excellent English language skills
• Must be based in the UAE already to be considered at this stage (no relocation is on offer currently).
