The Aces Vet is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive independent clinic in Pitsea, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated vet looking to work within a modern, well equipped practice that values clinical freedom, continuity of care and compassionate patient outcomes.
We are ideally looking for a permanent team member to build strong client relationships and support ongoing case continuity, although we are happy to consider an ongoing locum candidate whilst recruiting the right fit.
The Role
- Structured 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rota designed to support extended time off between working blocks
- 15-minute consultations
- Typically 2–3 surgical procedures per day
- Combination of consulting, routine and non-routine surgery, diagnostics and case work-up
- Opportunity to work up cases to a high standard within a supportive independent environment
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience within UK small animal practice
- Confident with routine consultations and surgery
- More complex surgical experience desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a close-knit team
- Organised, compassionate and committed to high clinical standards

Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical examinations and diagnose medical conditions
- Perform routine surgical procedures and manage medical cases
- Develop treatment plans tailored to individual patients
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment options and preventative healthcare
- Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and reception staff to provide excellent patient care
- Maintain professional and regulatory standards in accordance with RCVS guidelines
