Vice President, People & Talent
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)
We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused Vice President of People & Talent to lead and scale the HR function within a high-growth, private equity–backed organization in healthcare. This role will partner closely with the CEO and executive team to drive value creation through people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence.
This is a critical leadership position for a hands-on builder who thrives in performance-driven environments and has experience aligning talent strategy with aggressive growth objectives, operational rigor, and investor expectations.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership & Value Creation

Act as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team on all people-related matters tied to growth and value creation

Develop and execute a people strategy that supports scaling, operational efficiency, and long-term enterprise value

Partner with leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership capability to support rapid growth and potential M&A activity
HR Infrastructure & Scalability

Build and optimize HR infrastructure, processes, and systems to support a scaling organization

Establish disciplined, repeatable processes across the employee lifecycle with a focus on efficiency and consistency

Leverage HR data and analytics to drive business insights and decision-making
Performance & Accountability

Implement performance management frameworks that reinforce a high-performance, results-driven culture

Partner with leadership to drive accountability, goal alignment, and measurable outcomes across the organization

Support development of leadership bench strength and succession planning
Total Rewards & Incentive Alignment

Design and oversee compensation structures that align with market benchmarks and performance outcomes

Implement incentive programs that support business objectives and align with investor expectations

Oversee benefits strategy with a focus on competitiveness and cost management
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

Lead talent acquisition strategy to attract high-caliber talent in competitive markets

Ensure hiring plans are aligned with growth targets, operational priorities, and financial objectives

Support workforce planning in dynamic and evolving business conditions
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure full compliance with federal, California, and local employment laws

Proactively manage organizational risk and maintain strong governance practices

Partner with legal and external advisors as needed
Payroll & Operational Excellence

Oversee payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and scalability

Establish strong internal controls, audit readiness, and process discipline
Employee Experience & Culture

Drive a culture of performance, accountability, and engagement

Lead initiatives that enhance employee experience while supporting business outcomes

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing HR team aligned with business priorities

What You Bring
-
12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4+ years in senior/executive leadership roles

Experience in private equity–backed, high-growth, or transformation environments strongly preferred

Proven track record of building and scaling HR functions in evolving organizations

Strong business acumen with the ability to link people strategies to financial and operational outcomes

Deep expertise across HR disciplines (employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, HRIS, payroll, organizational development)

Strong knowledge of California employment law

Experience supporting M&A, integration, or organizational transformation is a plus

Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a private equity–backed growth journey in a multi site healthcare organization. You will help build the people, processes, and infrastructure needed to scale the organization, drive performance, and maximize enterprise value. Compensation target of $200k base salary plus bonus and equity.
