ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by Envolve or its affiliated companies.

Main Tax Director Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with accounting for acquisitions, sales and financing
  • Provide assistance with the formation and operation of legal entities such as partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies
  • Review Partnership and Operating Agreements and calculate periodic distributions to be made by various development entities
  • Assist with the preparation of income tax return workpapers for 200+ partnership and corporate entities
  • Assist with the review of entity tax returns prepared by our external accounting firms
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of miscellaneous state and local tax returns
  • Maintain tax depreciation schedules for entities
  • Prepare/review LIHTC computations
  • Work with internal acquisition and development groups on LIHTC development accounting
  • Research and document tax technical issues as well as assist with IRS audits and notices
  • Track and maintain master list of entities and filing requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (Preferred)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/PREFERENCE:

  • Knowledge of S. federal tax laws, particularly partnership taxation and low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC)
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment

EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred experience with real estate development and financing, drafting of legal documents such as leases, sales contracts, vendor contracts and letters of intent, project financing, and general employment matters.
