A leading CBSE boarding school, invites applications for an experienced and compassionate Vice Principal – Residential and Pastoral Care to lead the boarding and student wellbeing ecosystem and support the Principal in overall school leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for all aspects of student wellbeing, residential lifeand pastoral care across the school and boarding houses.
- Oversee boarding operations, including house staff, routines, leave/outings and discipline to ensure a safe, orderly and nurturing living environment.
- Establish and implement clear policies for behaviour, discipline, anti-bullying, digital safety and child protection in line with school ethos and statutory norms.
- Work closely with medical, counselling, catering and security teams to support students’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships with parents, guardians and agencies, ensuring regular communication on student progress, conduct, and welfare.
- Support the Principal in school administration, staff supervision, duty rosters, and implementation of school improvement plans, especially related to residential life.
- Lead and mentor houseparents/wardens, tutors and pastoral staff through training, observation, feedback and performance management.
- Coordinate pastoral programmes, assemblies, life-skills and value education initiatives promoting respect, resilience and responsible behaviour among students
- Monitor attendance, behaviour and wellbeing data; implement interventions and follow-up plans for at-risk students.
- Ensure full compliance with child safeguarding norms, health and safety regulations, and boarding policies, maintaining high standards in documentation and reporting.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education or any school subject; B.Ed/M.Ed mandatory.
- Minimum 5-7 years of teaching experience in a reputed school, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/coordination role (Coordinator/Vice Principal/Head of Pastoral).
- Prior experience in a residential/boarding school environment and direct responsibility for student discipline and pastoral care is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict-resolution, and team-management skills with the ability to handle adolescent issues sensitively and firmly.
- Sound understanding of CBSE norms, child safeguarding guidelines, and contemporary approaches to student wellbeing and behaviour management.
- Willingness to live on campus and be available for emergencies, night duties and weekend responsibilities as part of the senior leadership team.
