Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 4pm-midnight and on call rotations.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated advocate to provide emotional support and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence. This role includes occasional outreach presentations in Carter, Greene, and Unicoi Counties, with the primary work location in Erwin, TN.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver community outreach presentations both in person and online.
  • Answer crisis line calls, conduct lethality assessments, develop safety plans, provide information/referrals, service coordination, crisis intervention, and follow-up support—using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including holidays.
  • Maintain shelter in a state of readiness, including light housekeeping duties, organizing supplies, and ensuring safety by making sure shelter rules are followed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records for reporting purposes.
  • Transport clients to appointments as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and related software.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Ability to provide immediate and effective crisis intervention, including de-escalation skills.
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check (no criminal record) and drug screening.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college or related training preferred).
  • Experience in social work or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to work Mon-Friday 4pm-midnight and be on call on a rotating basis.
