The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony represents descendants of three Great Basin Indigenous peoples: the **Numu (Northern Paiute)**, **Newe (Western Shoshone)**, and **Washeshu (Washoe)**. These communities lived in harmony with the land for generations before European contact, following seasonal cycles and forming small, efficient social groups for survival. Each group’s name means **“The People”** in their own language, reflecting their deep cultural identity and connection to the Earth. The Victim Services Coordinator (VSC) at the Reno Sparks Indian Colony will serve as the essential point of contact for victims of crime, providing much-needed support and resources to those in distress. In this pivotal role, the VSC will offer direct assistance and impactful referrals to crime victims and their families, addressing the emotional challenges that arise from victimization. You will be responsible for delivering compassionate emotional support and a wide range of resources, helping individuals navigate the complexities of their situations.
