Role Summary:

The Video Podcast Producer is responsible for producing and delivering high-quality, video-first podcast content that tells compelling stories for a wide audience. The role combines strong editorial judgment, hands-on video production and editing skills, and close collaboration with teams to create engaging, shareable content across platforms, while adhering to UAE cultural and editorial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the full production lifecycle of video and audio podcasts, from guest booking, scripting and video filming through to post-production and platform delivery
• Manage all aspects of video recording, including camera setup, lighting, and audio, for both in-studio and remote sessions
• Research and develop episode concepts, write scripts and show notes, and craft interview questions that draw out substantive, narratively rich conversations
• Liaise with journalists, editors, and hosts to identify story ideas and encourage participation
• Publish and distribute formatted episodes across The National, YouTube and podcast platforms
• Stay current with video podcasting technologies, production trends, and audience behaviour
• Uphold UAE social, cultural, and moral standards, and maintain the integrity of the IMI brand
• Grows podcast audience using all possible avenues

Job Requirements:

• Proven track record in video and audio production with strong editorial judgment
• Experience producing video podcasts
• Excellent storytelling, scriptwriting, and interviewing skills
• Fluency with industry-standard production tools, including cameras, lighting equipment, and editing software
• Ability to work collaboratively across editorial and multimedia teams
• Knowledge of podcast promotion strategies and audience growth techniques
• Understanding of UAE cultural, social, and political context
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Media, Communications, or related field preferred
• 3-6 years of experience in podcasting or digital content production
