Video Editor

Responsibilities

• Assemble raw footage and edit it into a cohesive and engaging video product.
• Trim, rearrange, and refine clips to create a seamless and compelling narrative.
• Incorporate music, sound effects, and other audio elements to enhance the video's impact.
• Apply colour correction, grading, and visual effects to achieve the desired aesthetic.
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project goals and requirements.
• Receive and implement feedback to make necessary revisions and improvements.
• Manage media assets, file organization, and project timelines efficiently.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software updates, and emerging editing techniques.
• Adapt to different project styles and genres, ranging from short films to commercials to documentaries.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the editing process.
• Deliver final video products in various formats suitable for different platforms (web, broadcast, social media, etc.).
• Maintain a consistent level of quality and professionalism across all projects.
• Contribute creative ideas and suggestions to enhance the overall video production process.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
• Strong understanding of video editing principles, techniques, and best practices.
• Solid grasp of visual storytelling, pacing, and rhythm.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Familiarity with various video formats, codecs, and resolutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills for managing and archiving media assets.
• Excellent communication skills to understand and implement client/producer feedback.
• Experience with motion graphics and visual effects is a plus.
• Knowledge of color correction and grading techniques.
