Join our in-house production team in Lahore, Pakistan, as a Video Editor for the Air Crash Investigation YouTube channel. Our videos blend suspenseful storytelling with educational breakdowns of aviation accidents, featuring polished edits that compile animations, simulated audio, archival footage, and narration.
This role is crucial for turning raw assets into engaging, high-retention videos that mimic professional documentaries.
Key Responsibilities
-
Edit full-length videos, integrating 3D animations, MSFS footage, voiceover recordings, and sound effects to create cohesive narratives.
-
Apply editing techniques for dramatic effect, such as cross-fades during crash sequences, timeline graphics for event breakdowns, and syncopated audio for cockpit recreations.
-
Collaborate with the animator and writer to ensure edits enhance scripting, maintaining a somber tone with viewer discretion warnings where needed.
-
Handle post-production tasks including color grading, sound mixing, music selection (royalty-free suspense tracks), and subtitle addition for accessibility.
-
Optimize videos for YouTube algorithms, including thumbnails, end screens, and SEO-friendly timestamps.
-
Manage upload schedules and quality checks for 3-4 videos per month, plus occasional compilations.
Requirements
-
Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve, with experience in documentary or educational content.
-
Strong understanding of pacing, sound design, and visual storytelling to build suspense without sensationalism.
-
Familiarity with aviation-themed content a plus, but not required—ability to learn quickly from scripts and reports.
-
2+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio showcasing long-form edits.
-
Excellent organizational skills for handling multiple assets (animations, audio, graphics) in a team setting.
-
Bachelor's degree in Film Editing, Media Production, or related field is a plus.
-
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lahore, Pakistan, for full-time in-house work.
