Position Summary
Aging with Dignity (AWD) is a national nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization with a mission to safeguard the God-given right to age with dignity. It is America’s premier guide for end-of-life care and maintaining human dignity. AWD’s Five Wishes advance care planning program has reached more than 44 million people and their families around the world, is available in 33 languages, and has been distributed by 15,000 organizations.
The mission of AWD was inspired by the life and work of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. AWD’s advocacy efforts put humans first and oppose the dehumanizing effects of physician-assisted suicide (PAS) by providing hopeful alternatives.
The Video Production Intern shall work from AWD’s office in Falls Church, VA, and report directly to the Digital Media Director.
This internship is full-time and will proceed on a month-to-month basis at a rate of $21/hour.
Excellent performance will convert the role into a full-time hire, at which point salary expectations can be discussed.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Digital Media Director end to end in the production of long and short-form videos. Responsibilities would include:
- Planning and setting up lighting, sound, video, and scene elements for shoots in our office studio, and as part of shoots in and around the Washington, DC area.
- Editing short and long form content in Adobe Premiere

Creating and managing casting call auditions for video shoots

Develop thumbnails, titles, and descriptions that maximize each video’s organic growth potential

Deliver videos on time, at exceptional quality, and with an eye for organic growth potential

Create versions of video suitable for different social media platforms with an eye on performance and viewer retention

Monitor the performance of AWD and ASW videos on social media platforms and adjust video production/implementation process based on relevant data
Skills & Experience

Passionate commitment to AWD’s mission, core beliefs, and strategic direction is mandatory

Demonstrated experience working in a professional office environment and ability to interact at a professional level with colleagues and external contacts

Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance competing priorities
- Awareness of matters that require discretion and respect of confidentiality
- Previous exposure to all stages of video creation – lighting, sound, shooting, and editing – proficiency required in at least one of the above areas

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.

Social Media management experience is a plus

Graphic or motion design skills is a plus (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)

Experience in shooting live events is a plus
Reporting
Video Production Intern reports directly the Director of Digital Media.
