About Insane Founder
Insane Founder is a video podcast (releasing in July) and YouTube channel that goes behind the scenes with real founders - decoding the strategies, psychology, and personal stories that built their companies. This isn’t polished PR. We host the conversations founders are afraid to have: the 3am moments, the pivots that nearly broke them, the beliefs that kept them going.
Our audience is entrepreneurs, investors, and anyone building something from scratch. We give them practical tactics, honest stories, and the kind of depth you won’t find on mainstream business media.
We film on location. We travel to our guests. We produce documentary-level stories, and we’re looking for a passionate editor to join our team.
The Role
We’re hiring a Videographer & editor to own the post-production of every episode, and grow into a full creative partner on the channel.
This is not a remote, clip-and-render job. You will be embedded in the production process from brief to final export. You’ll edit long-form interview episodes, video essays, short-form cuts, and everything in between. You’ll receive detailed editorial briefs and be expected to execute them with precision, but also bring your own creative instinct to every cut.
If you enjoy watching business podcasts or YouTube channels on how to make businesses work, then this role is for you.
What You’ll Work On
- Long-form documentary interview episodes (30–60 min): structured with cold opens, chapter arcs, emotional pacing, and strategic business hooks.
- Video essays: researched, scripted visual storytelling with strong aesthetic direction
- Short-form cuts: Reels, Shorts, clips optimised for social distribution
- Motion graphics & on-screen animations: concept maps, formula breakdowns, stat cards, definition overlays (After Effects or equivalent)
- B-roll integration: sourcing, colour-matching, and layering with interview footage
- Sound design & music supervision: understanding when silence is the edit
What We’re Looking For
Non-negotiable:
- A genuine eye for visual storytelling - you know what makes a cut feel something
- Strong command of Premiere Pro (and/or DaVinci Resolve) and After Effects
- Ability to read and execute a detailed editorial brief with accuracy and creative interpretation
- Experience editing long-form video content: interviews, documentaries, or narrative-driven formats
- Fast turnaround without sacrificing quality, you understand that deadlines are a form of respect
- Honest and direct - if something isn’t working in the edit, you say so
- Entrepreneurial mindset, you take ownership, and proposal creative ideas
- Willing to travel to filming locations and shoots, own vehicle highly preferred
- Long-term commitment, this is a chapter of your career
Strong advantage:
- Familiarity with the visual language of channels like The science of scaling, UpFlip, EO, Starter Story, Relentless(@ti_morse), Anatomy of a Dream and Diary of a CEO.
- Experience editing business, documentary, or founder-focused content
- Ability to write or contribute to scripts and episode narratives
- Colour grading skills
- Interest in entrepreneurship, business, or investing. You’ll edit this content better if you find it genuinely interesting
What This Role Is Not
- A junior position where you wait for instructions
- A freelance arrangement with flexible timelines
What You Get
- A front-row seat to building a high-growth media brand from the inside
- Direct collaboration with the founder and host - your creative input matters
- Access to fascinating founders, businesses, and stories across the UK, UAE, Singapore, China and the US.
- A role that grows as the channel grows - creative direction, production leadership, and equity conversations are all on the table for the right person
- The chance to build a portfolio of work you’re genuinely proud of
To Apply
Send us:
- Your showreel or two to three examples of your best edited work (long-form and short forms)
- A short note: not a cover letter, just an honest answer: what’s a YouTube video you wish you’d edited, and why?
We’re a small team moving fast. If you’re the right person, you’ll know it reading this.
