POSITION OVERVIEW

Making A Concept is looking for a reliable, creative, and personable videographer in the Knoxville area to support ongoing client content projects. This role will involve traveling to client locations and capturing high quality video footage based on clear creative direction and filming instructions provided in advance. This position is focused on video recording and on location filming support. The overall content strategy, topics, talking points, and filming direction will be provided by Making a Concept. The videographer is not responsible for creating the content plan, writing scripts, or developing the marketing strategy. However, creative input during filming is always welcome, especially when it comes to suggesting strong visuals, camera angles, movement, lighting, or natural moments that can elevate the final footage. In addition to client focused filming, this role may also include capturing community footage, neighborhood visuals, local lifestyle scenes, and area based recordings that support broader storytelling and marketing content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Travel to filming locations in Knoxville and surrounding areas, including Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and nearby communities.
• Record high quality video footage according to provided creative direction, scripts, talking points, or shot lists.
• Capture a variety of angles, close ups, environmental shots, and supporting B roll.
• Film community scenes, neighborhood visuals, local landmarks, streetscapes, lifestyle moments, and other area based footage when needed.
• Ensure footage is clear, well framed, and properly lit.
• Help create a calm, encouraging, and professional filming environment for clients.
• Gently guide clients during recording when needed, such as helping with positioning, pacing, or natural delivery.
• Make the filming experience feel professional, relaxed, and enjoyable for clients.
• Follow prepared creative direction while also offering visual suggestions that may improve the footage.
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members during filming.
• Organize and deliver raw footage after each shoot.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be available to travel throughout the Knoxville and Smoky Mountain region.
• Must have personal video equipment, including camera gear.
• Lighting equipment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to follow filming instructions carefully and capture content with attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable working directly with clients.
• Personable and patient, with the ability to help clients feel comfortable on camera.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience filming social media content, interviews, real estate, business branding, community-based content, or lifestyle content.
• Drone equipment and drone filming capability are a strong plus.
• Basic understanding of short-form content needs for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
• Ability to suggest useful shots while staying aligned with the creative direction provided.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

• This is a part-time, project-based opportunity.
• Expected workload is at least 4 to 6 hours per week, with days and times arranged based on client availability and project needs.
• $30 to $50 per hour, based on experience.
• The videographer should provide their own camera equipment.
• Lighting equipment is preferred.
• Drone capability is a plus.
• This role is primarily for filming and delivering organized raw footage.
• Video editing is not required unless discussed separately for a specific project.
