Videographer - Summer Camp

Capture History in Action — Become a Videographer with National History Academy!

Step into history and bring it to life through your lens! National History Academy offers a 4.5-week immersive experience that helps 90 motivated high school students explore America’s story where it actually happened — and we’re looking for a talented, creative Videographer to document the journey.

As our Videographer, you’ll have the rare opportunity to travel alongside students and teachers to some of the nation’s most iconic historic sites, capturing the spirit, energy, and learning of the Academy. You’ll record interviews, film classroom debates, collect b-roll from site visits, and edit together short videos that showcase the heart of our program. Your work will help share the Academy’s mission with audiences nationwide — and give you an impressive professional portfolio along the way.

This internship includes room and board, a stipend, and admission to all historic sites — plus a summer full of storytelling, learning, and growth.

Your Role:

  • Film interviews with students, staff, and guest speakers, cultivating a cohesive narrative
  • Capture b-roll footage during classroom sessions, debates, and historic site visits
  • Take photos that highlight the learning, friendship, and adventure of the Academy
  • Edit short videos that tell the story of the summer experience
  • Collaborate with the communications team to share content on digital platforms
  • Represent the Academy with professionalism, integrity, positivity, and creativity
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students and faculty
  • Live on campus and become part of our community
  • Embody the mission and values of National History Academy

Who You Are:

  • A creative storyteller with a passion for videography, photography, and history
  • Experienced with video recording and editing tools (basic to intermediate proficiency preferred)
  • Organized, responsible, and great at managing multiple projects
  • A strong communicator — comfortable interviewing students, teachers, and guests
  • Professional, adaptable, and excited to work in a collaborative learning environment
  • You own your own photo/video equipment and video editing software
  • First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to complete certification before the program)
  • Able to pass a background check

Why You’ll Love It:

This isn’t your typical internship — it’s a chance to capture history as it happens and make an impact through storytelling. You’ll travel, learn, grow as a creator, and build a portfolio that reflects real-world experience in documentary-style videography and educational storytelling.

Join us this summer to film the past, inspire the present, and tell the story of the National History Academy.
