The Hanover Theatre & Conservatory (THT) is accepting proposals from a videographer/editor to create a short form video series to be used primarily on social media for marketing purposes.
We would like to give audiences a “behind-the-scenes” experience to learn about the process of building our version of The Nutcracker. While this will focus on the journey of the dancer chosen to play the lead character Clara. Our main objective with this series will be to heighten social media engagement, build word of mouth, and ultimately sell tickets.
Over the course of 4 months, contractor will shoot and edit 10-15 short videos focusing on the experience of the dancer who will be cast in the role of Clara in THT’s production of The Nutcracker. We expect about 40 hours of total shooting time, approximately August 1 – December 1, 2026. Please note that production week and performances are the week of Thanksgiving, with performances Friday – Sunday. There will be no shooting on Thursday, November 26, 2026 (Thanksgiving Day). Timeline focuses on first audition to final performance with 10-15 milestones throughout.
No housing, transportation, or equipment will be provided, though parking will be provided. All material shots will be property of The Hanover Theatre Conservatory, and all raw footage will be due at the end of the project.
Deliverables are expected to include horizontal and vertical formats with minimal audio mixing (both embedded and overlaid) of various lengths (approximately 15 seconds to 2 minutes depending on content captured).

With a sweeping grand staircase and elegant chandeliers, The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts transports its audience back to the time when a night out at the theatre was one of the most delightful entertainment options available. Today, it serves as a center of culture, education and community. It also symbolizes the rebirth of a city.
Selected by POLLSTAR as one of the Top Theatres in the World, The Hanover Theatre seats 2,300 audience members before its historic stage. Renovated and restored in 2008, the theatre brings internationally recognized performers, popular Broadway shows and thought-provoking stage pieces to central Massachusetts. Our restoration and therefore new ability to bring the world to Worcester served as a catalyst of the revitalization of Worcester’s (and central Massachusetts’s) cultural district. With the theatre at its center, our city became a place where the performing arts were not only accessible, but world-renowned.
