About Us

The National Conservatory of Arts is a fast-growing music school in Washington, DC, committed to building a high-performance, client-first experience for our students, families, and team. We believe in excellence, professionalism, and the transformative power of music education.

We’re seeking an inspiring and reliable Violin Teacher who connects with students, communicates well with parents, and takes pride in seeing their students grow both musically and personally.

If you’re passionate about teaching and love being part of a collaborative, growth-oriented team — this could be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

As one of our violin faculty, you’ll teach private and/or group violin lessons to students ages 5 through adult, helping them build strong technique, musicianship, and confidence. You’ll work closely with our administrative team to support student progress and create an excellent lesson experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging violin lessons (private and group) using established curricula and best practices
  • Communicate clearly with parents and staff about student progress
  • Prepare students for recitals, festivals, and studio performances
  • Submit attendance, progress reports, and repertoire updates on time
  • Maintain a professional and encouraging teaching environment
  • Collaborate with the NCA team for events, concerts, and community performances
  • Support the overall mission and values of the school

What Success Looks Like

  • Students look forward to lessons and make measurable progress each month
  • Parents feel informed, supported, and excited about their child’s learning
  • Recitals and performances run smoothly, showcasing student growth
  • Communication with the office is clear, timely, and professional
  • You contribute positively to the culture and reputation of NCA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance, Music Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience with young beginners through intermediate levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual, professional, and reliable
  • Comfortable working with families from diverse backgrounds
  • Must pass a background check
  • Available weekday afternoons and evenings, and/or weekends

This Role Is NOT for You If:

  • You’re often late or cancel lessons without notice
  • You prefer to “wing it” instead of planning or following a structured curriculum
  • You’re uncomfortable communicating with parents or school staff
  • You don’t take student growth personally or professionally

This Role IS for You If:

  • You’re passionate about teaching and student success
  • You love helping students discover joy and discipline through music
  • You value systems, structure, and clear communication
  • You’re energized by being part of a collaborative, professional teaching team
