Virtual Middle School Math Tutor

Join our dynamic team as a Virtual Middle/High School Math Tutor! This engaging role offers the opportunity to work remotely, providing personalized math instruction to middle school students. As a vital part of our educational community, you will leverage your expertise in math and teaching to foster understanding, confidence, and academic success. Your patient and kind approach will inspire students to explore mathematical concepts with enthusiasm and curiosity, making learning both effective and enjoyable.

Duties

• Deliver live, interactive tutoring sessions focused on middle school math topics.
• Develop customized lessons and adapt instructional strategies using innovative learning technology tools to meet individual student needs.
• Guide students through PreAlgebra - Algebra concepts.
• Maintain an engaging virtual learning environment.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents (and other educators) to align tutoring goals with broader academic objectives and requirements.
• Enter lesson summaries detailing student progress and things to work on.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching middle school mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of the middle school mathematics sequence and willing to apply different methods to help with learning and engagement.
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms and tools for virtual instruction.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts effectively.
• Background in classroom experience is highly desirable..
• Training or previous experience working with students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism, ADHD or other learning exceptionalities is a plus
• Passion for working with students and fostering an safe learning atmosphere.
