Vision Therapist/Retired Teacher/Educator/Psychology degree

If you answered yes to those questions, you are in the right place. Our growing practice is looking to hire a full-time or part-time vision therapist. No experience is necessary! We provide paid, in-depth training that will give you life-long skills. Vision therapy is an exciting, rewarding field which teaches patients how to coordinate their eyes, process visual information,and live a better, more fulfilling life. We specialize in treating patients with vision related learning issues, post-concussion rehabilitation, and sports vision.

We encourage early childhood educators, therapists that work with children (ie. Occupational therapists/behavioral therapists/Developmental Therapists), those with a psychology background and individuals that love working with children to apply!

Responsibilities

Patient Management:

  • Plan and execute therapy plan for one-on-one therapy sessions with patients.
  • Document patient progress during therapy sessions.
  • Perform specialized testing, document results, report findings to our doctor team

Communication:

  • Document, reflect and improve patients performance with in-office therapy sessions for doctor’s review, share promising outcomes with team members and work with our doctor team to develop comprehensive therapy plans differentiated to meet the goals of each patient.
  • Foster open relationships through open communication with patients and/or parents of patients to provide thorough instructions for home therapy.
  • Coordinate with other medical and educational professionals to offer the most comprehensive care to each patient.

Administrative:

  • Participate in therapy team planning efforts, helping to develop, align and advance center goals, outcomes and strategies.
  • Act as optometric assistant/tech to assist the doctor team with office visits, including documentation of medical notes.
  • Perform administrative tasks as necessary for a growing practice.
  • Light cleaning/material organization and implementation of sanitization protocol to ensure a safe environment for both staff and patients.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Positive and engaging personality.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with patients and work in a team environment.
  • Show adaptability within a growing, fast-paced practice.
  • Ability to balance independence with close, team-based collaboration and coordination.
  • Enjoy working with both kids and adults with various vision challenges.
  • Desire for long-term employment.
  • Experience working in education, learning environments either formal or informal,
  • Experience with ADHD/ADD, autism spectrum disorders, and/or sensory processing disorder.
  • Experience working in vision therapy, occupational therapy, developmental therapy field, or at a rehabilitation facility.
