Role Summary:

The Visual Brand Designer is responsible for executing strong, cohesive design in support of Gesa Credit Union’s marketing efforts and brand presence. This position requires close collaboration with a team of creatives, copywriters, designers, project managers, and strategists. The Visual Brand Designer helps develop marketing strategies and high-quality visual assets across multiple platforms to strengthen brand recognition and position in the marketplace. This role also supports the maintenance and improvement of design systems and processes that enable scalability and efficiency, while managing multiple projects and bringing a proactive, collaborative approach to creative execution.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead the execution of high quality, brand aligned visual design across marketing campaigns, initiatives, and ongoing content needs spanning digital and print channels.
  • Ensure cohesive visual expression of the Gesa brand across all touchpoints, maintaining a high standard of craft and consistency.
  • Partner closely with the Art Director, copywriters, video producers, social media, project managers, and strategists to bring integrated campaigns and initiatives to life.
  • Translate creative direction, briefs, and business needs into clear, effective visual solutions tailored to specific audiences.
  • Help define, maintain, and evolve design systems, templates, and brand guidelines to support scalability, efficiency, and long-term brand health.
  • Support light motion or animated content as needed to enhance campaign and digital storytelling.
  • Apply expert visual judgment across typography, layout, color, and composition, setting a high bar for quality and execution.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing timelines, priorities, and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and oversee files for digital distribution and print production, ensuring technical accuracy and production excellence.
  • Review and refine creative work for accuracy, brand compliance, and production requirements, providing thoughtful feedback and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to other designers and creatives, contributing to overall team growth and quality.
  • Actively participate in creative reviews, work sessions, and presentations to align on vision, feedback, and execution.
  • Stay current on design tools, trends, and best practices, bringing innovative ideas and improvements to the team.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Gesa Credit Union’s products, services, audiences, and organizational goals to ensure design supports business objectives.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism when managing sensitive information.

About You:

  • Effectively communicate ideas and information, verbally and in writing.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to deal with a range/variety of people.
  • Ability to take ownership of work by following through to deliver high quality design.
  • Strong eye for typography and can clearly identify the difference between good and poor visual execution.
  • Comfortable working within design systems and understand the value of consistency and scalability.
  • Ability to collaborate with other creatives to solve problems and push ideas forward.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable testing boundaries, navigating ambiguity, and learning through iteration.
  • Ability to approach work with a leadership mindset, even without formal authority, and are open to feedback, experimentation, and learning from missteps.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general research and information gathering.
  • Ability to adapt to and manage changes with ease.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications. or a related field. Equivalent related work experience may be substituted in lieu of education requirements.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing an array of projects in a fast-paced agency or corporate setting.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand focused design work across digital and print applications.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or other UI design platforms.
  • The ability to lead by example by always displaying solid ethics and integrity.
  • Financial services/credit union experience is preferred.
  • Some travel is required for training, to fulfill duties, and for career development.

Full Salary Range:

$80,168.40-$119,957.52

  • While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications. This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us!"
