Interim Visual Communications: Social Media & Graphic Design
Spring 2026
Part-time | 10 hrs/week | remote

This is a contracted, interim position for a 12-month period. As the Alliance of Baptists is in a season of organizational transition, this role is being created to meet current communications needs. At the conclusion of the contract period, the position will be reviewed in light of the organization’s evolving needs, with the possibility of extension.
Description:
The Alliance of Baptists is seeking a Visual Communications Associate to join our team and collaborate with the communications team. This role will support the Alliance’s mission by managing social media platforms and creating visual content that communicates our vision, values, and ongoing work.

The ideal candidate will:
● Have some higher education; a degree in communications or project management is ideal;
● Have experience and comfort working in the Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and social media managers;
● Have strong working knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, etc.;
● Demonstrate familiarity with and commitment to the Alliance’s mission, values, and theological commitments, with the ability to communicate in a voice that resonates authentically with our community;
● Demonstrate strong communications skills and ability to collaborate across diverse theological, cultural, and political perspectives;
● Be creative and have an eye for design and visual story-telling;
● Have a demonstrated ability to collaborate;
● Have experience or interest working in racial justice; and
● Be organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Position Responsibilities:
Social Media
● Managing the Alliance’s social media presence by: ○ producing and uploading compelling content,
○ moderating groups,
○ and interacting with the online audience on behalf of the organization;
● Curate organizational announcements through social media channels
● Amplifying the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in the Alliance and Alliance networks by sharing and highlighting their work;
● Stay informed on social media trends and platform changes; and
● Monitor pages for inappropriate content to ensure alignment with established community guidelines.
Graphic Design
● Collaborate with the communications team to visually communicate the Alliance’s vision and mission;
● Design visual content for social media, website, and email marketing as needed;
● Design marketing collateral as needed; and
● Edit and upload video content as needed.
Other Information
● Works collaboratively with the staff with direction from leadership;
● Reports to strategic communications and clergy engagement manager as supervisor;
● Minimal travel may be required;
● Attends online staff meetings at a cadence that fits the needs of the team;
● This position is fully remote.
