Visual Designer

This position is not open to applicants residing in or otherwise based in California, New York, or Massachusetts. Additionally, applicants must be located in the Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones.


Engagement Details

As a Visual Designer, you will collaborate with internal teams and partner stakeholders to shape and produce high-quality visual assets for online programs in higher education and business settings. You will work with partner brand guidelines to ensure designs are consistent, polished, accessible, and aligned with institutional identities. You will collaborate with Instructional Designers, Project Managers, and Graphic Designers to translate creative concepts into deliverables that support course and program goals. This role requires deep proficiency in industry-standard design tools and the ability to balance creativity with partner expectations.


This is a remote, part-time, hourly, 1099 independent contractor role. 15 or more hours per week of daytime and weekday availability needed.


Scope of Work


  • Design high-quality visual assets for online learning programs, marketing collateral, websites, presentations, and digital campaigns to produce polished, consistent deliverables.
  • Apply and adapt partner brand guidelines across a wide range of assets.
  • Partner with instructional designers, project managers, and partner stakeholders to conceptualize and execute creative ideas.
  • Build and refine visual frameworks that elevate the learning and marketing experience.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity standards are met in all designs (e.g., WCAG-aligned color/contrast, typography, and structure).
  • Manage multiple partner projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of professional design experience, ideally with partner-facing projects
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, and Photoshop (must be highly skilled in all four)
  • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, color theory, and typography
  • Experience applying and adapting brand guidelines to a variety of deliverables
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of partner-facing work, particularly in digital/online learning or higher education/business contexts
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills to present and explain design decisions
