Volumetric Concrete Mixer Driver

Axtell is a long established and expanding supplier of goods and services to the construction industry. From our depots across the South-East, we supply ready-mix volumetric concrete to domestic and commercial customers. We are currently looking for experienced Class 2 HGV drivers to drive and operate volumetric concrete mixer trucks out of our Southampton depot.

Tasks and duties will include but not be limited to:

• Delivering, batching, and pouring concrete.
• Operating mixer (full training given).
• Loading mixer with loading shovel (full training given).
• Be capable of operating machinery and carrying out routine vehicle checks.
• Making sure that the load is correctly secured by use of an easy sheet.
• Issuing receipts.
• Customer service.

This is not a pure driving role; it also requires a practical hands-on aptitude working around machinery and plant and good people skills as you will be liaising with customers on site. The role involves working outdoors in all weather, climbing access ladders and handling hoses and materials as part of normal duties.

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must:

• Hold a HGV Class 2 licence.
• Have a digital-tacho card and driver CPC.
• Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
• Have a great attitude and strong work ethic.
• Be capable and confident in your ability.
• Have a good geographical knowledge of our operating area.
• Have a positive attitude towards maintaining and improving health and safety standards.

OTE range (including overtime) £43,550 - £55,000 per annum.

We offer top rates of pay and are currently happy to consider hiring on a full-time basis or as a self-employed contractor. In addition to daywork, we offer the opportunity to undertake night/weekend work at higher pay rates.
