- Provide individual and group counselling to address emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs of children
- Build trust and create a safe, supportive environment
- Observe and track children’s emotional, social, and behavioural patterns
- Identify early signs of distress, trauma, developmental issues, or behavioural concerns
- Design and conduct age-appropriate therapeutic activities and group sessions
- Handle crises, emotional breakdowns, and conflicts with timely intervention
- Coordinate with caregivers, teachers, and management for child support plans
- Refer children to external professionals (psychologists, doctors, therapists) when required
- Maintain confidential case files for each child
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on counselling sessions, progress, and interventions
- Document behavioural changes, follow-ups, and personalised care plans
- Support reintegration, foster care, or adoption transitions where applicable
- Monitor and track emotional and social development of each child
- Conduct awareness or life skills sessions on communication, self-esteem, and coping skills
- Train or guide staff on handling children sensitively and psychologically
- Ensure adherence to child protection policies and ethical counselling standards
