Additionally we support survivors of domestic violence and advance advocacy efforts to prevent abuse. Through community outreach, education, and survivor-centered services, we work to create safer communities and empower individuals affected by domestic violence.

Position Overview

**Please note that this role is a Volunteer position.** We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and strategic Marketing Specialist to amplify our mission and expand our reach. This role will focus on increasing awareness, strengthening community engagement, and significantly growing our social media presence and follower base. The ideal candidate has experience in nonprofit marketing and understands how to communicate sensitive topics with care, respect, and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies that elevate awareness of domestic violence issues and promote organizational programs and services.
  • Manage and grow social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, and X), with a strong focus on increasing followers, engagement, and reach.
  • Create thoughtful, trauma informed content that educates, inspires, and mobilizes the community while maintaining survivor dignity and confidentiality.
  • Plan and implement social media campaigns tied to awareness months, fundraising efforts, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategies to optimize growth and engagement.
  • Collaborate with program staff to highlight services, survivor stories (when appropriate and consented), and community impact.
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with the organization’s mission, values, and ethical guidelines
  • Stay current on trends in nonprofit marketing, social media growth strategies, and domestic violence awareness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Marketing experience, preferably within a nonprofit or social impact organization.• Demonstrated success in increasing social media presence and growing followers across multiple platforms.
  • Experience handling sensitive subject matter with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong alignment with the mission of supporting survivors and advocating against domestic violence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with or supporting domestic violence, social services, or advocacy organizations.
  • Knowledge of trauma informed communication practices.
  • Basic graphic design and/or video editing skills.
  • Experience with fundraising or awareness campaigns.
