Volunteer Tutors: Reading/Math

Oasis is looking for caring, patient volunteers to help young learners build foundational skills in reading and/or math.

Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring pairs volunteers with children in grades K–3 to work one-on-one each week as their tutors, mentors, and friends. With your guidance and encouragement, children gain confidence, improve skills, and develop a more positive connection to school and learning. You can choose from one of our participating school districts across Missouri and Illinois. Once matched, you’ll work with the same child each week throughout the school year, giving you the chance to build a consistent, trusting relationship that helps them grow.

This volunteer opportunity is for the 2026-2027 school year, with trainings beginning in September. Tutors must commit one hour per week during their tutoring commitment.

• A passion for supporting young learners
• Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills
• No formal teaching experience required
