VP Actuarial & Product

Our client a leading life insurance organization is seeking a seasoned executive to serve as Vice President of Product and Actuarial. This role is a key strategic partner to the Life Market President and is accountable for enterprise-wide product development, actuarial leadership, underwriting strategy, and in-force block management across life and annuity portfolios.

The VP will unify product, actuarial, and underwriting capabilities into a centralized center of excellence, strengthening governance, pricing discipline, analytics, and decision-making. This executive will collaborate closely with Finance, Risk, Investments, Legal, Compliance, and Sales to ensure profitable growth, sound risk management, regulatory compliance, and long-term portfolio sustainability. The role also plays a critical part in aligning product pricing with investment strategy and market dynamics.

The ideal candidate brings deep actuarial expertise, strong commercial acumen, and a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams. This leader will build and develop high-performing teams, modernize underwriting and pricing approaches, and leverage data, automation, and advanced analytics to drive innovation and performance.

Qualifications:

• Senior leadership experience in life insurance and annuity products
• Actuarial designation required (FSA or ASA)
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or related field.
• Demonstrated success leading product, actuarial, and underwriting functions
• Strong strategic, analytical, and people leadership capabilities
