Position Summary

The VP Business Banker – Commercial Lender manages an individual loan portfolio and is responsible for generating new commercial loan and deposit relationships. This role ensures lending activities align with bank policy, strategic initiatives, pricing expectations, and strong credit standards. As a key member of the lending team, this position also participates in strategic planning and supports overall bank growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Portfolio Management

• Originate commercial and real estate loans in accordance with bank policy and growth goals
• Manage an assigned loan portfolio, ensuring strong credit quality, profitability, and compliance with internal processes
• Participate in credit committee discussions and decisions
• Review and collect payments and account balances as needed
• Approve loans within established lending authority levels using sound judgment and discretion
• Deepen customer relationships by understanding full account profiles and identifying cross-sell opportunities

New Business Development

• Source and develop new commercial lending relationships
• Expand and strengthen existing customer relationships
• Drive new deposit growth, including business and personal deposit relationships
