VPK Lead Teacher

Position Overview
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and experienced VPK Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about guiding 4-year-olds through their critical pre-kindergarten year, using a play-based and Creative Curriculum approach that nurtures social, emotional, and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging VPK lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and state VPK standards.
• Assess children’s developmental progress and maintain accurate records and portfolios.
• Create a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
• Communicate regularly with families to build strong partnerships and support each child’s growth.
• Supervise assistant teachers and collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality care and education.
• Maintain compliance with DCF, ELC, and VPK requirements.

Qualifications

• Current CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education required.
• Minimum 1 year of classroom experience with preschool or VPK students.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A genuine love for teaching young children and making a positive impact.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour
