Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will inspire young learners through engaging curriculum development, nurturing classroom management, and fostering a positive environment that promotes childhood development. Your expertise in early intervention, literacy education, and special education will ensure each child's unique needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism. As a VPK Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing children for future academic success while creating a warm, inclusive classroom experience that encourages curiosity and growth.

Duties

  • Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curricula aligned with early childhood education standards and VPK requirements.
  • Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to support holistic child development.
  • Manage classroom activities to promote positive behavior management, social skills, and emotional well-being among students.
  • Foster effective communication with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to early childhood education.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through observations, standardized testing, and formative assessments to tailor instruction accordingly.
  • Support children with special needs or those requiring early intervention by adapting lessons and collaborating with specialists as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to childcare regulations and promotes child welfare.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom management and lesson planning.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and early intervention techniques.
  • Experience with curriculum development across various educational disciplines such as literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring techniques to support individual student growth.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
  • Certification in early childhood education or equivalent credentials; additional qualifications in special education or toddler care are highly desirable.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
