VSP Janitor- Full Time Red Run

Position Summary:

Performs various housekeeping duties to maintain established standards of cleanliness in accordance with

all safety and operational policies and procedures and in compliance with contract requirements.

Contacts: Regular contacts outside the department, but generally within the company, to

give or get information. Requires only courtesy to avoid friction.

Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills. Degree or HS Diploma not

required.

Performs Cleaning Duties

Performs various housekeeping duties as required by contract specifications.

Tasks:

Performs various housekeeping duties in accordance with contract requirements and established

procedures such as, but not limited to, cleaning light fixtures, ashtrays, telephones, window blinds,

and water fountains; dusting furniture, refilling paper towel and soap dispensers, emptying waste

receptacles and transporting waste to designated area for disposal.

Obtains necessary supplies and equipment in accordance with VSP policies and procedures.

Advises supervisor of problems, issues and concerns as related to building maintenance.

Maintains outside grounds according to contract requirements and established procedures, which may

include trash, clean up, snow and ice removal, etc.

Operates Equipment

Operates cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturers' directions.

Tasks:

Utilizes cleaning equipment and supplies such as, but not limited to, dust and wet mops, buffers,

brooms, and vacuum cleaners in order to perform general floor and carpet care duties such as, but

not limited to, sweeping, mopping, stripping, refinishing, buffing, burnishing, vacuuming, spot

cleaning and extracting.
