- Greeting and Seating:Welcoming guests, providing menus, and guiding them to available tables.
- Order Taking:Accurately taking food and drink orders from customers, often using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Food and Beverage Service:Delivering orders to tables, ensuring food presentation and quality, and checking on customer satisfaction.
- Menu Knowledge:Providing information about menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Addressing Customer Needs:Responding to customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and attending to special requests.
- Maintaining Cleanliness:Clearing tables, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring the dining area remains tidy.
Cashiering Responsibilities:
- Order Processing: Entering orders into the POS system, calculating totals, and processing payments.
- Payment Handling: Accepting cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment, and making change accurately.
- Transaction Management: Issuing receipts, maintaining accurate records of transactions, and balancing the cash drawer.
- Cash Handling: Ensuring the security of cash and other payment methods.
- Closing Procedures: Balancing the cash drawer at the end of the shift and completing any necessary paperwork.
- POS System Management: Understanding and utilizing the POS system for all transactions.
