A Banking Relationship Officer is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with individual and business clients. The role focuses on understanding customers’ financial needs, offering suitable banking products and services, and ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention. This position plays a key part in achieving the bank’s sales, service, and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with retail and/or corporate clients
- Identify customer financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products (loans, credit facilities, deposits, investment products, etc.)
- Achieve sales and portfolio growth targets
- Cross-sell and up-sell banking services
- Conduct regular client meetings and follow-ups
- Prepare credit proposals and financial documentation for loan processing
- Monitor client accounts and ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies
- Manage risk by reviewing creditworthiness and ensuring timely repayments
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally
- Stay updated on market trends, banking products, and regulatory changes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Proven experience in banking, sales, or relationship management (1–3+ years preferred)
