Patient Care & Safety
- Ensure delivery of safe, ethical, and quality nursing care to all patients
- Monitor patient condition and ensure timely nursing interventions
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and hygiene protocols
- Handle patient complaints and resolve issues promptly
- Coordinate with doctors regarding patient treatment and care plans
Staff Management
- Allocate duties and prepare duty rosters for nursing and support staff
- Supervise, guide, and support ward nurses and attendants
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes
- Identify training needs and assist in staff development
- Maintain discipline and professional conduct in the ward
Administrative Duties
- Maintain ward census, admission, transfer, and discharge records
- Ensure accurate nursing documentation and reports
- Monitor availability and usage of ward supplies and equipment
- Indent drugs, consumables, and linen as required
- Report incidents, shortages, or equipment faults to management
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between doctors, nurses, patients, and attendants
- Coordinate with pharmacy, laboratory, housekeeping, and maintenance departments
- Participate in ward rounds and clinical meetings
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH/JCI/State health authority standards (if applicable)
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives
- Implement hospital policies, SOPs, and guidelines
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM (Recognized Nursing Council)
- Valid Nursing Registration
Experience
- Minimum 4–6 years of clinical nursing experience
