Warehouse and Logistics Manager

Job Description:  O rganizes the distribution and storage of materials and finished goods.  Duties include shipping and receiving of all materials, planning site volumes, multiple warehouse management, supporting the Purchasing Manager and the production Manager.


Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate all inbound, outbound and internal logistics and transportation.
  • Accurately track inventory of goods, raw materials, and components as well as stock levels, delivery times and transportation costs.
  • Maintain reports and records of inventory received and shipped.
  • Manage and coordinate various transportation carriers and vendors.   
  • Supervise and train all warehouse and shipping staff members.
  • Track the status of goods in real-time to ensure delivery dates are being fulfilled.
  • Experience coordinating inventory transfers between facilities. 
  • Deliver solutions to all logistics problems while maintaining a high quality of service.
  • Communicate with the Chemist, Production Manager, Marketing, Purchasing Manager, and Upper Management to create production expansion plans and to consistently deliver on scheduled work orders.
  • Maintain optimal cleanliness and good housekeeping practices throughout the warehouse floor. Ensure all components are properly returned to inventory after each project. Organize and manage production floor space to minimize outside warehousing and maximize storage efficiencies. 
  • Assist in maintaining production equipment, facility mechanics, and other related equipment to optimal level to ensure maximum production speed and efficiency.
  • Maintain appropriate records and enter necessary system updates in a timely manner. Assure all the required materials, parts and supplies required are available to production when needed.
  • Communicate and participate in setting the direction of the organization and developing and maintaining a strategic logistics plan based on production needs and customer satisfaction.


Requirements:

  • Possess extensive industry related logistics experience.
  • Experience operating fork lift equipment, and other warehouse and production facility equipment.  
  • Five to eight years in a plant manufacturing environment with at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience using SAP software a strong plus.
  • Ability to multi-task. Must be a hands-on, team player. Strong strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • GMP regulation experience.
  • Must be able to lift heavy cartons.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be extremely reliable, able to work independently, and have a strong work ethic.
