Description
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, and fulfilling purchase orders. Assists with cleanup. Works independently or as part of a team to carry out multiple tasks or projects. Productive worker with solid work ethic in successfully completing tasks by being dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Carry out tasks as assigned by the warehouse Shipping/Receiving supervisor
- Become proficient in ERP System as it applicable to warehouse operations
- Utilize any/all electronic equipment associated with ERP system and accountability of products.
- Be attentive to detail on processes, procedures and associated data entry and paperwork etc.
- Cross train in other skills necessary for warehouse operations
- Be prepared to support both shipping and receiving departments and functions
- Load and unload merchandise.
- Stack merchandise on racks.
- Check in merchandise and affix labels.
- Fulfill customer orders.
- Move materials off racks and package for shipment.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items.
- Follow all safety codes.
- Place merchandise on pallets or shelves for distribution.
- Record amounts of materials or items received.
- Perform facilities cleanup.
- Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
- Move product and inventory
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized process flow
- General understanding of all part numbers processed through production area
- Informed understanding of SOPs that impact general employee and quality activities
- Establish a working relationship with department Supervisor –
- To review daily tasks
- Maintain and enforce all applicable standard operating procedures and policies
- Informed understanding of GSS System with regard to logging into shifts and work orders.

Qualifications
Minimal Qualifications include:
- 2 Years experience in receiving and inventory control
- FedEx, UPS and World Shipping Software
- Basic computer knowledge
- Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
- Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
- Work with attention to detail and safety standards
- Hard-working and committed to achieving excellence
- Eager to meet challenges and quickly assimilate new concepts
- Good communication -ability to listen, write, and speak effectively
- Team player who can build trusting relationships with co-workers
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Experience in manufacturing
- Forklift experience.
Working Conditions
Lifting Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Physical and Ergonomic Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
