Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and moving heavy equipment. Duties
- Inventory & Asset Tracking: Maintain accurate inventory counts for both installation and service stock. Meticulously track and document equipment model and serial numbers for warranty and compliance purposes.
- Purchasing & Replenishment: Monitor stock levels and proactively order parts and materials from distributors to replenish warehouse inventory.
- Receiving & Stocking: Receive incoming shipments from distributors, verify contents against purchase orders, and stock warehouse shelves in an organized manner.
- Staging & Loading: Review upcoming job requirements to pick and stage equipment for installations. Assist installers every morning with loading their trucks with the precise materials and equipment needed for the day.
- Logistics & Field Support: Pick up parts and equipment directly from local distributors. Assist in coordinating and running materials directly to field personnel on active job sites.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the entire warehouse clean, organized, safe, and efficient.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- Driving Record: Must be a safe driver with a clean driving record. A valid driver's license is required to perform distributor pickups and field deliveries.
- Software Skills: ServiceTitan experience is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who is comfortable learning new inventory software.
- Experience: Prior warehouse or inventory control experience preferred; familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction materials is a major plus.
- Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail (specifically for recording serial numbers), excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative team-first attitude.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This role requires a high level of physical fitness and stamina to manage heavy equipment safely.
- Heavy Lifting Skills: Strong preference for candidates skilled in heavy lifting techniques. Must be physically able to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy equipment and materials weighing at least 50 pounds on a regular basis, ensuring safety protocols are followed to prevent injury.
- Extreme Elements: Ability to work comfortably in extreme weather conditions and elements (hot summers, cold winters within the warehouse/loading areas).
- Confined Spaces: Must be willing and able to maneuver in tight spaces, such as attics and crawl spaces, when assisting with field deliveries or staging.
