About You
The ideal candidate has exceptional multi-tasking skills, a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a warehouse or retail environment, a high attention-to-detail, and the ability to successfully manage their daily workload. This individual understands the importance of the process with respect to inspecting the product, can also lift over 35lbs regularly and can stand for long periods of time. We are looking for someone who prioritizes safety in the workplace, has excellent communication skills, is a self-starter, can work independently and in a team environment.
Overview of the Position
Your role as a Warehouse Associate plays a crucial part in making each customer's experience a positive one. You will be asked to be versatile and flexible, supporting a variety of departments including Shipping, Receiving, Returns, Assembly, and Quality Control.
You will play an integral part within our organization. Your high attention to detail will ensure products are thoroughly checked and entered into our ERP system correctly, and our outbound orders are accurately picked, packed and shipped within the required time frame in order to maintain our excellent customer service standards. You will receive, inspect, clean and test astronomy product returns with proper documentation. This environment requires individuals that are highly detail-orientated, great at following processes and can multitask through multiple forms of communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Shipping: Prepare outgoing shipments: pick and pack merchandise / Perform quality checks to ensure merchandise is correct, and packed securely
- Receiving: Crosscheck items to packing list / Label and place in designated area
- Manufacturing/Quality Control: Build out products based on specs to ensure they meet our quality control standards.
- Product Inspection: Set up, inspect, clean and test astronomy products using internal guidelines.
- Document Returns: Provide detailed description of the returned product, crosschecked against the return information, report the product's condition across multiple programs.
- Communicate with customer: Inform customer of return process, inspection, refund issued and provide email documentation accordingly. Phone calls may also be required to communicate effectively and maintain a quality customer experience.
- Prepare shipments of defective merchandise to the manufacturers for credit or replacement or warranty work. Work with the shipping and purchasing department as needed to facilitate the shipments/credits/replacements due.
- Responsible for performing cycle counts as needed therefore driving inventory accuracy. Outstanding exploratory skills to resolve discrepancies
- Ensures the efficient and safe utilization of docks, and warehouse equipment
- Be involved with customer complaints to help resolve in a timely manner and identify cause to eliminate future occurrences of the same type
- Maintain warehouse by neatly and accurately organizing inventory, and discard excess shipping materials
- Daily clean up and restocking of workstation materials
Qualifications and Requirements:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely.
- Ability to organize and plan work adhering to priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to perform repetitive tasks
- Computer skills: Google Workplace, Slack, MS Word and Excel, ShipStation, NetSuite, can type 55wpm with high accuracy
- Experience with FedEx Ship Manager and USPS online software
- Pallet Jack operation
Daily Physical Demands:
- The employee must regularly and repetitively lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and frequently and repetitively lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- The employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance.
Work Environment:
- Due to the nature of this position, on-site attendance is mandatory. No responsibilities of this position may be completed remotely.
- All warehouse team members must wear the appropriate protective equipment to accommodate the protection needs of the present hazard. All team members are required to work on, or in close proximity with, moving forklift and aerial lift trucks.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be required to consistently meet deadlines in a work area that is not temperature controlled and will be exposed to elements such as, but not limited to: noise, dust, odors, fumes.
- Closed toe/closed heel shoes are required.
Pay Range: Starting rate $18.00/hour
After 3 months of employment: Eligible for Benefits / PTO
Full Time: Monday - Friday, some Saturdays
