Position Title

Warehouse Trainer – Logistics & Warehousing Sector

Reporting to

Centre Co-ordinator /Centre Manager

Role Purpose

To deliver high-quality training to candidates enrolled in the Warehousing / Logistics job role (for example the job role of Warehouse Associate (NSQF Level 3) published by National Skill Development Corporation) National Skill Development Corporation.
Ensure trainees acquire practical skills, industry-relevant knowledge, employability & soft skills, and ultimately become job-ready for warehousing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct classroom & practical training sessions as per the approved curriculum & model curriculum for the job role.
  • Demonstrate warehouse operations: receiving & inspection, material handling, storage, packing, dispatch, documentation, safety, use of warehouse equipment, inventory management.
  • Facilitate hands-on practical exercises in a mock warehouse environment or actual warehouse facility.
  • Integrate soft skills, communication skills (especially English), digital literacy (e.g., basic computing / warehouse management software) and employability skills into training.
  • Monitor trainee attendance, progress, assessments and maintain training records & MIS documentation as required by OSDA / Training Partner.
  • Coordinate with assessment & certification agency (via Sector Skill Council / NSDC) for external assessments.
  • Liaise with industry partners/employers for internships / on-job training / placements.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, housekeeping, 5S, standard operating procedures, and warehouse norms.
  • Provide feedback, remedial support to under-performing trainees and prepare them for placement.
  • Participate in trainer-upskilling, orientation workshops, and keep updated with industry trends in warehousing/logistics.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in any discipline (or Diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain / Warehouse Management / Industrial Engineering).
  • Preferably 2-3 years work experience in warehousing/logistics operations (receiving, storage, dispatch, inventory control) or at least 1 year of training/teaching experience in skill development environment.
  • Certification or training in Training of Trainers (ToT) / pedagogy / adult learning is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English and Odia (for Odisha context) plus basic computing skills.
  • Ability to use training aids, multimedia, simulation tools.
  • Willingness to travel within district/centre as required.

Desired Competencies

  • Strong facilitation & presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate youth trainees, many of whom may come from rural/tribal backgrounds.
  • Good organisational & record-keeping skills.
  • Industry orientation & awareness of warehousing trends (automation, logistics software, safety).
  • Adaptability to work under the outcomes-based training framework (attendance, certification, placement) as per OSDA / State scheme.
  • Fluency in Bhojpuri / Hindi / Odia may be an added advantage given local context.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of trainees successfully certified per batch.
  • Drop-out rate of trainees.
  • Placement rate of trained candidates into warehousing/logistics roles within 60 days of certification (or as per scheme guidelines).
  • Attendance and punctuality of trainees in training batches.
  • Feedback rating from trainees and industry/employer partners.
  • Maintenance of training centre records, submission of MIS on time, compliance to quality audit by OSDA.

Terms & Conditions

  • The engagement may be contractual / monthly honourarium basis as per OSDA norms for Trainer role.
  • The trainer may be required to deliver multiple batches, possibly shift-wise (morning/evening) based on centre schedule.
  • The trainer shall abide by the policies of OSDA / State Skill Mission, and follow guidelines on minimum training hours, batch size, model curriculum, NSQF alignment, etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
