Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Logistics
- Inventory Management: Implement and maintain a precise Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track all stock, including raw materials, finished joinery, architectural finishes, and equipment.
- Receiving & Inspection: Oversee the receipt, unloading, and detailed inspection of all incoming deliveries, verifying quantities and specifications against purchase orders, and promptly resolving discrepancies.
- Material Dispatch: Plan, coordinate, and execute the timely and accurate dispatch of materials and tools to various fit-out project sites, ensuring all shipments are correctly documented and packaged for safe transport.
- Space Optimization: Design and maintain an efficient and logical warehouse layout for optimal storage, movement, and accessibility of fit-out components.
Supervision & Safety
- Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and delegate daily tasks to warehouse staff, fostering a highly organized, productive, and collaborative work environment.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring the safe operation of all material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Maintenance: Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and the facility itself are clean, organized, and in good working order, reporting maintenance needs immediately.
- Training: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members on proper handling techniques, safety protocols, and inventory procedures.
Coordination & Documentation
- Liaise daily with Project Managers and Procurement Teams to forecast material needs and adjust logistics plans based on project timelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all stock movements, inventory levels, shipments, and receiving reports.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory checks to ensure zero discrepancy between physical stock and system records.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role, ideally within the Construction, Interior Fit-Out, or Project Logistics sector.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with handling and storing materials common to fit-out projects (e.g., MDF, specialized hardware, glass, fabricated elements).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Inventory/Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Certifications: Valid certification for operating material handling equipment (e.g., Forklift License) is required.
- Core Skills: Exceptional leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to meet the physical demands of a warehouse environment, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions if applicable.
