Job Summary
The Warehouse In-Charge / Manager is responsible for the overall management of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The role ensures proper stock control, material safety, timely dispatch, and compliance with company procedures while minimizing losses and operational inefficiencies.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Stock Management
- Maintain accurate records of all stock movements (inward, outward, returns, transfers)
- Ensure proper stock identification, labeling, and classification
- Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile physical stock with system records
- Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Control and reduce stock damage, loss, pilferage, and obsolescence
Inward & Outward Operations
- Supervise receipt of materials, verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery challans
- Ensure timely issuance of materials to production, sales, or dispatch teams
- Coordinate dispatches, loading, and unloading activities
- Prepare and verify delivery challans, gate passes, and stock issue notes
Warehouse Operations & Safety
- Ensure proper storage methods to maintain material quality and safety
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and space utilization
- Implement and enforce safety standards and material-handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, handling norms, and statutory regulations
System & Documentation
- Maintain stock records in ERP / inventory software (Zoho Inventory, Tally, SAP, Excel, etc.)
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and warehouse reports
- Coordinate with accounts for stock valuation, audits, and reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory
Team Management
- Supervise warehouse staff, helpers, loaders, and drivers
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor productivity
- Train staff on inventory procedures, safety, and system usage
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Sales, and Accounts departments
- Communicate stock availability, shortages, and discrepancies promptly
- Support management in planning inventory and logistics strategies
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock management
- Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software, ERP systems)
- Leadership and team-handling capability
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications
- Graduate / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or relevant field
- Warehouse or inventory management certification is an advantage
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in warehouse or inventory management
- Experience in handling high-volume or multi-SKU inventory preferred
Work Environment
- Full-time, warehouse-based role
- May require extended working hours during peak operations
