Position Overview:

The Inventory Associate assists with multiple inventory activities for the Quantum Group. These duties are outlined below. Additional responsibilities for this role include supporting the storage and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse and production area, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job requests. This position is also responsible for maintaining inventory records and the inventory database to support accuracy and availability.

  • Under the direction and with assistance from the Inventory Control Lead and Materials Manager, accurately receive all items into the facility, both physically and within the MRP/ERP system.
  • Support the Shipping team in performing shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, reconciling purchase orders against packing lists, identifying discrepancies, and distributing products to the appropriate departments for processing.
  • Receive carrier deliveries, including opening bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare them with records such as manifests, invoices, and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
  • Perform initial quality control checks by inspecting stock items for damage, wear, or defects, and report any issues to the Materials Manager.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure ERP system stock levels accurately reflect physical quantities.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, document findings, and process adjustments as needed.
  • Record quantities of materials or items received or distributed in the ERP system.
  • Label materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Create and maintain both physical storage locations and corresponding locations in the ERP system.
  • Store items in a safe, orderly, and accessible manner in vertical storage units, warehouse shelving, tool rooms, supply rooms, and other designated areas.
  • Identify and report inventory shortages to the Purchasing team.
  • Generate pick lists and issue parts through the ERP system.
  • Pick, assemble, and stage customer orders and kits for workshop and service technicians.
  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, both on-site and off-site, as required.
  • Train employees on warehouse processes and organizational procedures, as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and order throughout the warehouse.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Transfer hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, as well as other discarded materials, to designated collection areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse.
  • Assist the Parts and Production departments with tasks as needed to fulfill customer orders.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience are required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse environment is required.
  • 5+ years of experience with inventory management is required.
  • Experience with computerized material stock control is required.
  • Experience using a narrow aisle reach truck (standing forklift) and front-loaded sit-down forklift is required.
  • Common computer experience using Microsoft Windows operating system is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) databases is a plus.
  • Experience with handheld bar-coding equipment is a plus.

EXPECTED WORK HOURS:

This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position. The employee is expected to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position requires a 40-hour work week. As an hourly, non-exempt employee, any time worked over 40 hours must be paid as overtime in accordance with FLSA regulations. All overtime must be approved by the supervisor or manager prior to working overtime.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
