Warehouse Manager for garments and footwear includes overseeing daily operations, managing inventory and staff, ensuring safety and security, and coordinating logistics for receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
Key responsibilities involve implementing procedures, optimizing layout, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with other departments, such as sales and procurement, to ensure a smooth supply chain for apparel and shoes.
Key responsibilities
- Operations management: Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Inventory control: Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels of garments and footwear through regular audits, cycle counts, and the use of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Staff management: Supervise, train, motivate, and schedule warehouse staff, including performance management and enforcing company policies.
- Safety and security: Develop and enforce safety protocols and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Logistics and distribution: Coordinate the flow of goods, from the arrival of new stock to the outbound shipment of finished orders. This includes collaborating with transportation teams and managing logistics for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Equipment maintenance: Manage the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of all warehouse equipment and facilities.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on warehouse activities, performance metrics, and inventory levels for management.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction within the warehouse.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably within the apparel or Garments & footwear industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills.
- Proficiency with WMS and other relevant software.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and inventory control methods (e.g., FIFO).
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
