Warehouse Manager – Distribution (Hands-On / Player-Coach)

Job Description

We are a growing distribution company supplying cabinet manufacturers with hardwood lumber, hardwood plywood, moldings, adhesives, abrasives, functional hardware, face frame materials, and related products. We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Manager with distribution warehouse management experience who leads from the front and works alongside the team daily.

This is not an office-only role. The Warehouse Manager will be actively involved in forklift operation, loading/unloading, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and day-to-day warehouse operations.

This position offers opportunities for growth into higher-level management and/or sales for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

· Manage daily operations of a distribution warehouse

· Lead and supervise warehouse staff in a hands-on, player-coach role

· Load and unload trucks using forklifts and material handling equipment

· Oversee receiving, picking, packing, and shipping

· Maintain accurate inventory using ERP systems

· Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories

· Use Excel for inventory tracking and reporting

· Ensure safe, organized, and efficient warehouse operations

Requirements

· Distribution warehouse management or supervisory experience (required)

· Comfortable working hands-on in all warehouse functions

· Forklift experience or willingness to become certified

· Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

· Ability to lift and handle heavy materials regularly

Preferred (Not Required)

· Experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, lumber, or building materials distribution

· Knowledge of hardwood lumber, plywood, moldings, or cabinet-related products

Schedule & Physical Requirements

· Full-time position

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 50–75 lbs] throughout the workday
