Warehouse Manager - Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading safe, disciplined, and high-performing warehouse operations in direct support of production and quality objectives. This role owns end-to-end warehouse performance, including safety, inventory accuracy, material flow, workforce productivity, cleanliness, and operational execution across all shifts.

The Warehouse Manager is a hands-on operational leader who drives structure, accountability, and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires building reliable systems, developing frontline supervisors, and ensuring warehouse execution enables uninterrupted production and on-time shipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance Leadership

  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture and enforce all safety policies and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure consistent PPE compliance and safe equipment operation across all shifts.
  • Conduct documented safety audits and proactively address unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Lead safety training, reinforce safe work practices, and promote near-miss reporting.
  • Maintain clear aisles, proper material handling standards, and safe traffic flow.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance metrics.

Quality, Cleanliness & 5S Execution

  • Maintain an audit-ready warehouse aligned with 5S and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure proper segregation and handling of raw materials, allergens, expired, and damaged goods.
  • Eliminate contamination risks and ensure compliance with all quality standards.
  • Establish daily housekeeping standards by shift and enforce area ownership accountability.
  • Sustain a culture of discipline and visual management throughout the facility.

Inventory Accuracy & Control

  • Own inventory accuracy, transaction integrity, and material traceability.
  • Develop and execute structured cycle count and reconciliation processes.
  • Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure disciplined use of ERP system for all material movements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for inbound, internal, and outbound transactions.

Operational Flow & Throughput Management

  • Ensure seamless material flow across Receiving, Put-Away, Transfers, Kitting, Staging, and Shipping.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks impacting production or shipping performance.
  • Monitor throughput, space utilization, and labor productivity.
  • Proactively adjust labor allocation to meet shifting production priorities.
  • Conduct routine operational flow reviews to sustain continuity and efficiency.

KPI Management & Execution Discipline

  • Establish clear, measurable targets for 1st and 2nd shifts.
  • Require structured shift plans from supervisors with defined priorities.
  • Conduct regular KPI reviews focused on safety, accuracy, throughput, and labor efficiency.
  • Provide structured operational reporting to senior leadership.
  • Implement timely corrective actions when performance gaps occur.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner daily with Quality to align on material release and compliance priorities.
  • Coordinate closely with Production to support schedule adherence and space management.
  • Maintain clear visibility of operational priorities and constraints.
  • Conduct end-of-shift reviews to ensure issue resolution and next-shift readiness.

People Leadership & Culture Development

  • Lead focused daily stand-up meetings that drive clarity and accountability.
  • Establish clear performance standards for supervisors and warehouse associates.
  • Coach supervisors in structured problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Oversee onboarding, skills development, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and development conversations.
  • Build a culture of ownership, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive retention through engagement, accountability, and strong frontline leadership.

Resource Planning & Operational Readiness

  • Continuously assess staffing levels relative to volume and workload demands.
  • Adjust workforce plans proactively to prevent production disruption.
  • Escalate risks before they impact service or output.
  • Ensure operational standards are sustained during peak and fluctuating volumes.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years managing supervisors and frontline teams.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success improving warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.
  • Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (cGMP, FDA, food, pharmaceutical, or pet products).
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Work Environment

  • On-site leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing warehouse.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment as required.
  • Flexibility to support extended hours during peak production or operational demands.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
