Warehouse Operative (Nights)

As a Warehouse Operative Nights, you will be integral to the efficient operation of our warehouse, reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Main Duties

• Fork Truck Driving, loading and unloading lorries
• Handling stock. 95% + of boards / Pipes etc. are 5m in length and packs vary in weights up to approx. 20kgs
• Picking and packing products (boards, pipes and other products) for customer & intra company orders
• Checking, banding and labelling completed orders for despatch and loading onto trucks
• Handballing pipes & boards into stillages
• Replenishing stock into stillages both by hand and using forklift
• Ensure all documentation is filled out accurately and that reports are accurately completed and circulated.
• Stock-counting and involvement in stock takes
• Liaising with the Supervisor / Warehouse Manager in relation to stock availability issues and pick sheet amendments
• Maintaining warehouse / stores area in a clean and tidy condition.
• Ensure forklift trucks are in good working condition and are operated in a safe manner
• Work to and in line with the warehouse control systems and ensuring that good warehouse practices, including warehouse safety practices are maintained at all times.

He/she is required to have the ability to work on their own initiative having the ability to start an action, including coming up with a proposal and giving or assisting without first being requested to do so.
• Communication: conveying information clearly and accurately to and from other team members, management and other plant functions such as production, customer services and quality. Good listening and basic computer skills are essential.

Person Specification

The Warehouse Operative will:

- Be numerate and literate, with a focus on accuracy

- Previous related experience, while not essential, is desirable.

- Possess, as minimum, a valid Counterbalance forklift licence.

- Be able to undertake manual duties, involving lifting, pushing and pull all the while adopting proper manual handling technique.

- Possess the interpersonal, organisational and communication skills needed to liaise with warehouse team members and other plant functions

- Be eligible to live and work in the EU and have fluent English, both written and spoken.

- Possess a “can do” attitude.
